pasta and sausage

I made dinner tonight-- italian sausage, plus some spaghetti sauce, and pasta. It was pretty good. Couldn't figure out an additional dish, so we made do with that. It's better than eating out. That's our second dinner in a row made at home. And I actually have an idea for two more meals. We may even make it through the weekend. Makes up for all the lunches I've had with Anne and Marko this week!

iLove iWant

This is a fun app that is pretty simple, just sets you up with basic icons to search for basic needs nearby. It's pretty accurate and has some good extras (the movie icon gets you theaters, and movie times. You could get the same stuff through googlemaps, but googlemaps is just not that great usually. Plus, it's FREE!!

sunset cruise

We had a fantastic time on our cruise! We had the boat to ourselves, well worth the $252 for the two hours. Our captain/crew/bartender were very friendly and kept the champagne flowing. Sarah and Felicia took advantage, as did Jen and I. Some of us slightly regretted it later. :)
Gorgeous views of the lake, wind gently brushing past, making silly jokes and enjoying the setting sun.
And lots of jokes, of course. It was peaceful, and hysterical, lots of fun. There were some moments where I think people were just admiring our crew as they guided the boat through the water, clambering up the mast, moving sails and ropes.

We listened to 80's music throughout the trip, and ended up singing along at a few points.

Wine

Last night we discovered three bottles of Chardonnay in our pantry.
They are from 2001 and taste much better than the Trader Joes wine we
had before (no knocks to $2 and $3 wine- it definitely has it's
purpose and place!).

We had kebabs for dinner, shrimp and steak. I put them together and
Sarah chopped veggies. Katie was grillmaster again. We hung out at the
table after dinner and talked, drank more wine. I kept the glasses
filled ;)

We played apples to apples and Alice decided "men" are "exhausting"
and Felicia really should have picked David Letterman when I put it
down!

We moved on to our first movie after that.... Girls Just Want To Have
Fun.

Alice at the "Heavenly Village"

Vikings-car-central

Ventured up the winding road to Vikingsholm, a castle, today-- and
decided to make a visit another day. So many cars and no parking! It
was still very pretty. Lots of cliffs, no shoulder, views of the lake
and Emerald Bay.

We did visit Baldwin Beach- great sand and decent water. Katie and I
ventured in and hung out awhile. It wasn't too cold.
When it started to rain and we were huddling under towels laying on
the beach.... That was the end of it. We went home and tested out the
hot tub and made some lunch!

Sunday morning relaxing

We had mushroom-zucchini-tomato-cheese omelettes and bacon! Living it
up. I have tons of pictures to upload to picasa, but only my iPhone
Internet connection so far.
Today we are checking out the beach and some other sites nearby.
Jen and Sarah are watching some Hispanic television show on the
computer that Katie and Alice had downloaded- there's a lesbian in it.
They are cute. Felicia is blowing bubbles and putting cartoons on tv.
I was reading the Denver pedestrian plan for my final paper, due
Tuesday.

I think it's time to get dressed.

Stopping for coffee in Carson City

We demolished our dessert

Planes with propellers are LOUD!

And they vibrate a lot.

Jen and Sarah have arrived, I'm waiting for them. I have my car
paperwork taken care of. Reno has lots of small planes flying into it.
Got to see a few slot machines on the walk through the airport- I
called mom to talk to her.

I almost upgraded the car to a suburban with a DVD player. But we
don't need that and it was $20 more per day.

It's warm here!

My plane has propellers

Tahoe or Bust

Gracious taxi drivers Anne and Alex transported me this morning. They
told me the funny story of their little fender bender last night.
Sounds like they got the good end of the deal, to me.
We had some banana and trademark Alexcoffee. At seatac, I had time to
have a dishdelish breakfast sandwich and an Izze, Anne's favorite drink.

I downloaded a bunch of iPhone apps to keep me entertained. Tetris,
solitaire and some others. I'm going to test the battery on this trip!

mutiny bay

We went to Laura's cabin on Mutiny Bay today! Saw tons of fireworks up and down the beach, and had some yum salmon. Lovely and relaxing. There were a lot of people up and down the beach, at all the other houses. a good fourth.
